The front inscription identifies the owner as “Ankh-wah-ib-ra the smiter, commander of the army,… born of …(?)b.” The ushabti will do corvee duty, “cultivate the fields, water the riverbank” using the tools and basket he carries.  The back pillar text states the he is the “son of Psamtek, justified.”

The inscription identifies the owner as Psamtek-mer-ptah “overseer of the royal ships” under Pharoah Amasis of the 26th dynasty. Ushabti figures were supposed to work for the tomb owner in the afterlife .
