HOW TO PRINT ON METAL-COATED CARD

This document should enable you to prepare metal-coated light card for inkjet printing.
I have successfully printed several spacecraft models on Chromed card to produce brilliant and apparently stable results. I have printed the Tutankhamun’s Throne model on this card to produce a stunning shiny gold effect. Now there are commercial products available (I have tried one of them) to coat such card to enable inkjet printing but they are fairly expensive and my technique seems to work just as well and as long as the page is sprayed with a permanent clear finish the page should not bleed or flake off. One of my models is at least two years old and is still just fine. NOTE: I have used the Canon Pixma iP4700 without any problems, but I suggest you use ONLY printers which pass the paper straight through from the top paper feed NOT from a cartridge as this involves the paper being rolled around during the printing process.

I TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOU USING YOUR PRINTER TO PRINT COATED CARD!
